Nick Perpich

Nick Perpich died in Sonoma on April 13, 2011.

He was born in Valier, Ill. Not wanting to join his father and brothers in the coal mines located there, Nick came to California at a young age and finally settled in Sonoma, for 46 years. He worked as a locksmith for the City and County of San Francisco and retired after 30 years of service. Nick enjoyed going to the different departments and liked to tell his grandchildren about when he was asked to repair the lion cages at the zoo. He did it willingly, but worked with one eye over his left shoulder.

Nick is predeceased by his dear wife of 56 years, Mary, of Sonoma. He is survived by son, Martin Perpich, of San Francisco; a beloved daughter, Catherine Michaud; son-in-law, Peter Michaud, and their two children, Madeline and John-Peter Michaud, of Waterville, Maine.

A Mass will be said at St. Francis for the repose of his soul. At his request, there will be no funeral.
