The public is invited to the opening reception for November’s annual Collaborative Show on Friday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arts Guild of Sonoma. The show runs from Oct. 27 to Nov. 21 and features seven collaborative works by nine artists.

In the last 10 years, collaborative art practices have moved in to the mainstream of cultural production, and collaboration is now largely taken for granted as one of the numerous ways that artists can choose to operate.

In this month’s show the following artists have paired off with each other to produce seven pieces: Roberta Alexander, Leta Davis, Elizabeth Dekker, ZaZa Fetterly, Christine Gonzales, Susan Heeringa-Pieper, Sandra Lane, Bev Prevost and Katie Richardson

The following member artists will also be exhibiting during November: Patricia Akay, Barbara Aliza, Pat Biggs, Beth Changstrom, George Dawney, Irene Ehret, Katherine Green, Cynthia Hipkiss, Ray Jacobsen, Paul Kirley, Sandra Lane, Christine MacDonald, Helen Mehl, Martin Munson, Andrea Giovanna Patri, Joan Shepherd, Sharon Sittloh, Lyn Swan and Thena Trygstad. Artists’ works include pieces in acrylic, encaustic, oil and watercolor paintings, jewelry, mixed media work, metal sculpture and more, including smaller objects d’art and note cards.

Located at 140 E. Napa St. in Sonoma, the gallery is wheelchair accessible and free to the public. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday to Monday. Exhibits change monthly.
