NHRA D7 drags begin today at Infineon, with FRAM Autolite Nationals at raceway July 29-31

Two weekends of National Hot Rod Association action on Infineon Raceway’s famed drag-strip starts today with NHRA Division 7 drag-racing, which runs through tomorrow, Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24.

Then the weekend of Friday, July 29, through Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31, Infineon Raceway will host the 24th annual, and popular, FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals.

With Division 7 comprised of the western United States (Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah), the drag-racing weekend is presented by Korbel and will feature both the NHRA Lucas Oils Division 7 Drag Racing Series and the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Series. The Pacific Division Top Sportsman Series, Hughes Performance Top Dragster Series and Sportsman Motorcycle Series will also run in conjunction with the event.

More than 500 drag racers from the western United States will compete in nine categories, including Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Sportsman Motorcycle, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster. 

Gates open at 7 a.m. today and Saturday, and at 8 a.m. on Sunday, with the cost being $5 today, $20 a day Saturday and Sunday, and $45 for the weekend, with children 12-years-old-and-under, and parking, free. 

 

NHRA DIVISION 7 SCHEDULE

Today: Qualifying and time trials, 8 a.m.; Top Dragster, Comp and Top Sportsman qualifying, noon and 4 p.m.

Saturday, July 23: Time trials and qualifying, 8 a.m.; Top Dragster, Comp and Top Sportsman qualifying, 11 a.m.; eliminations, 2 p.m.; Outlaw Pro Mod, noon and 4 p.m.

Sunday, July 24: Eliminations continue, 9 a.m.
