Mary M. Husak died at the age of 83, on Aug. 17, 2011, in Ukiah, after a brief illness.
Mary was born in San Francisco on Aug. 8, 1928, to Arthur E. Kellogg and Sylvia Kellogg. Her family was among the early families of San Francisco, arriving in the 1870s.
Mary is survived by her children, Robert Martin and his wife, Nancy; Jan Martin; and Charles Martin and his wife, Holly; and her stepson, Michael Husak and his wife, Caroline. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Martin, Jason Martin, Tina Reis, Sean Reis, Sarah Martin, Daniel Husak and Amanda Husak. She has three great-grandchildren, James Leveron, Gregory Reis and Madilynn-Grace Reis.
Mary grew up in San Francisco graduating from Lowell High School in 1945. She married N. Keith Martin in 1947; they were married for 30 years until his death in 1977.
Mary and Henry Husak married in 1979 and lived in Daly City until Mary retired in 1988 when they moved to Sonoma. Mary worked as a legal secretary for more than 20 years, retiring from Sedgwick, Detert, Moran, & Arnold in 1988.
Mary, along with her husband, Henry, were accomplished artists creating many paintings to share with friends and family.
Join Mary's family and friends for a celebration of her life on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 275 E. Spain St., Sonoma.
A private inurnment will be held immediately following. Donations may be made to Sonoma Pets Lifeline.
