Making blankets for charity

The Sonoma Blanket Brigade invites the community to attend a no-sew blanket-making workshop on Friday, Aug. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Vintage House, 246 First St. E.

The acrylic fleece blankets are simple to make, require no sewing, and are donated to various charities in the Valley and beyond. So far, the group has donated more than 300 blankets to groups such as the Valley of the Moon Children's Home, YWCA Safe House, Haiti earthquake victims and Infineon Raceway Speedway charities.
