Sassarini’s fifth graders spent two days before Thanksgiving recreating American Colonial history. They created a Colonial town and researched the lives of Colonial cabinetmakers, printers, milliners and bakers. On Tuesday, they all dressed in costume and recreated the Colonial school day of 1770. Pictured here, above: fifth grader Marcela Reyes Estrada and her classmates got a kick out of the authentic costumes in Sassarini’s creative recreation of Colonial life. And left: fifth grader Magy Gutierrez enjoyed a day of authentic Colonial learning in Mrs Sanders’ classroom at Sassarini.
