Lightning, Cougars, Angels snare girls softball playoff tourney titles

Capping the Sonoma Valley Girls Softball Association 2011 season at the Field of Dreams were the recently held annual championship playoff tournaments, where the Lightning, Cougars and Angels claimed their age-group crowns.

While the Lightning (sponsored by Sonoma Plaza Pediatrics) captured the SVGSA 14-years-old-and-under championship, the Cougars (sponsored by Sonoma Management) and Angels (sponsored by Mary's Pizza Shack) won the 12-and-under and 10-and-under titles, repectively. It was the second-straight Valley title for the Cougar girls.

Comprising the 2011 SVGSA 14-years-old-and-under champion Lightning were Janelle Carranza, Jordan Dunlap, Emily Garcia, Raegen Hedley, Kristyn McDonald, Sophie Popenoe, Erika Pulido, Mimi Ryan, Katie Sunia, Annie Thornton, Bronwyn Todd and coaches Dan De La Torre, Jim Dunlap and Troy McDonald. 

The 2011 SVGSA 12-years-old-and-under champion Cougars consisted of Hannah Adams, Brianna Crispi, Azalea Cross-Martinez, Karina Echeverria, Jensen Hedley, Alanna Johnston, Maddie Kiser, Kasey Richards, Acacia Schow, Candice Silkey, Katie Stovall, Nathalie Vega, Carlie Vollert and coaches Scott Vollert, Larry Adams and Mike Stovall. 

Comprising the 2011 SVGSA 10-years-old-and-under champion Angels were Isabella Albano, Abigayle Alcayaga, Allyson Alcayaga, Renee Bell, Riki Marechal, Rosie McGovern, Kennedy Midgley, Emily Molina, Annie Neles, Meghan Robinson, Madison Schiffman, Michaela Schillinger and coaches Stacey and Bob Midgley, and Christine Neles.
