You can now make that two dynamic wins over longtime Sonoma County League rivals in one week for Sonoma Valley High School’s varsity volleyball girls, who accomplished the feat in front of their excited home fans at Pfeiffer Gym.
After sweeping past nemisis El Molino 25-14, 25-18, 31-29 on Tuesday, the Lady Dragons avenged an earlier five-set loss to Analy by turning the tables and defeating the defending SCL champion last night in another five-set match by scores of 25-15, 25-20, 20-25, 22-25 and a 15-12 fifth-game thriller.

Despite turning in a solid team effort behind junior Jordann Dagner’s medalist performance, Sonoma’s girl golfers were denied their first victory as Petaluma managed to hold off their charge for a 306-315 SCL win yesterday at the Rooster Run Golf Club in Petaluma.

Sonoma’s tennis girls ran into a good Analy team in Sebastopol yesterday and dropped a 6-1 SCL decision, with the Lady Dragons’ duo of sophomore Michelle Stovall and freshman Cecilia Montano continuing their winning ways with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Emily Eccles and Hillary Brennan at No. 3 doubles.
