July full of drag racing at Infineon Raceway
After wrapping up June by holding its largest-attended event of the season, the 23rd annual NASCAR Toyota/Save Mart 350, Infineon Raceway is presenting a July filled with drag-racing as the NHRA comes to the Valley for two action-packed weekends that will end the month.
First Infineon welcomes the return of NHRA Division 7 Drag Racing to be held the weekend of July 22 to 24.
Then the popular, high-powered FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals take over Infineon Raceway’s famed drag-strip from Friday, July 29, through Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31.

Before the NHRA events come to the Valley, there will still be a lot of drag-racing at Infineon as the raceway’s popular local event, its Wednesday Night Drags, continue every Wednesday through Nov. 16.
Infineon’s Wednesday Night Drags evening also includes the “Top the Cops” program for high school students – designed to help take illegal racing off the streets and bring it to a safe, legal and controlled environment – and the fast-rising motorsport of “Drifting.”
The Wednesday Night Drags are open to anyone with a driver’s license, and they can race any vehicle or motorcycle they bring to the track, provided it passes a simple tech inspection.
Gates open at 3:30 p.m. and racing spans from 5 to 10 p.m., with the cost being $25 for competitors – $15 for students with a high school ID – and $10 for spectators. Season-long passes are also available.

Infineon Raceway’s 2011 Big O Tires major events season will conclude with two top attractions – the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma taking place the weekend of Aug. 26 to 28; and the Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge on Oct. 1 and 2.
