Judging Duck Stamps

Mar 28, 2011 - 08:59 PM
A panel of 13 judges from a variety of wildlife and conservation groups, including Marilyn Gamette, Junior Duck Stamp state coordinator for California, reviewed more than 3,100 pieces of artwork submitted by students across the state to select the best pieces to send on to the National Junior Duck Stamp judging in Washington D.C. For the first time ever, the judging took place in Sonoma at CornerStone Gardens on Friday, March 25. While students from Prestwood Elementary School and Crescent Montessori School submitted designs, the California best of show winner was a snow goose drawn by 16-year-old Erica Digap of Elk Grove, Calif.
