John L. Roos

 John L. Roos, 96, of Sonoma, died Jan. 14, 2011, at home.

John was born June 15, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a veteran of World War II in the 329th U.S. Corps of Engineers. He was a long time resident of Novato and retired to Sonoma in 1980.

He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Krisa and Julia Knickerbocker; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

John was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and horseback riding. His beloved wife, Violet Roos, of 53 years preceded him in death.
