Jeanne Blanche Casaux Doron

Jeanne Blanche Casaux Doron passed away peacefully at home in Sonoma, on May 7, 2011, attended to by family and friends. At her bedside, in addition to her family, were her dear friends Diane Hiatt and son-in-law, Gordon Strom.

Harvey, her beloved husband of 59 years, preceded her in death. Jeanne is survived by her four children, Diane Doron, Lisa Doron, Lori Doron,and Matthew Doron; daughter-in-law, Kathleen; and three grandchildren, Scout DeNatale Doron, Andrew Doron and Madeline Doron.

Jeanne was born March 22, 1921, in San Francisco, a first generation American of French heritage. Her full life included working at Hamilton Air Force Base in the 1940s and '50s, raising a family in La Crescenta, and volunteering with the Pasadena Counseling Center, Planned Parenthood, Friends of the Library and Sonoma Valley Hospital.

She was passionate about family planning and mental health issues.

She enjoyed reading and collecting cookbooks and shared with her husband a love of gardening, roses and dachshunds. She will be remembered for many things, not the least of which were her fine intellect and wise counsel, endearing laugh and clever humor and her superb cooking and classy décor.
