Janice Kay 'Sissy' Oerding

Janice Kay "Sissy" Oerding passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011, in Santa Rosa, due to complications from a stroke, she was 62.

She was born in Hanford, to her loving parents Bueford and Lillian Pierce. She spent her happy childhood with her siblings, Randy, Debbie and Marty.

She is preceded in death by her father, Bueford; and by her brother, Marty.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Oerding; and by her children, Greg, Troy, Julia, Tony, Laquesha, Larel, William, Solange and Tuesdai. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was a psychiatric technician for 17 years at the Sonoma Developmental Center. She also fostered high-risk infants for 20 years. She was a constant figure at Kenwood School helping with fundraising and food programs for families in need.

Until the day she died, all children were her greatest concern. Always a kind and loving lady with an open heart, she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

No formal services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel, Mission Cremation Service, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA.
