James P. McNicholas

James McNicholas died on Aug. 14, 2011. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., where he attended the local schools and then during World War II served in the United States Navy.

Following his college education at San Jose State and UCLA, Jim was a coach and teacher at Manual Arts High School and Hollywood High School in Los Angeles for 33 years. During those years, he was married to Lois. They were married for 51 years.

When Jim and Lois retired, they moved to Sonoma and lived at CreekSide senior community for 22 years and enjoyed participating in many of the activities there. After Lois passed away two years ago, Jim moved to Merrill Gardens and passed away just before his 89th birthday.

He is survived by two brothers, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Services were private and handled by the Neptune Society.
