James Burton Levin
James Burton Levin
James Burton Levin died Saturday, July 9, 2011, from chronic health issues, which he had struggled with for many years and which had severely compromised his mobility and well being.
Jim was born in 1951 in Illinois, the youngest of three sons.
His greatest joy growing up was playing hockey. Playing sports continued to be an important part of Jim's life until his mobility issues forced him to stop. He was always an athlete. He enjoyed playing soccer, golf and basketball.
Jim moved to California in the late '70s. He worked in sales and marketing, specializing in electrical and energy conservation equipment.
In 1986, Jim moved to Kenwood with his family where he lived until recently when he moved to an assisted living complex in Sonoma. Kenwood was the place Jim felt most connected to, where he felt most at home. Jim coached both of his children and many of their pals to multiple first place wins in soccer over the years.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Kelley Levin; his son, Scott Willis, and wife, Candice; their mother, Jane Levin; his brothers, Mike Levin, of Illinois and Bob Levin, of Washington; and good dog, Maggie.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St. in Sonoma on Wednesday, July 20 at 2 p.m.
