Irene Sanders Gates

Irene Sanders Gates passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in Taos, N.M. at the age of 63.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Gates; her two daughters, Christine and Deanna; their father, Lonnie Sanders; and two grandchildren, Emma and Devin.

Irene was the daughter of Russian immigrants and sister to the late Steve Shasholin. She and her parents emigrated from Shanghai, China in 1947 to San Francisco and then relocated to Sonoma.

Irene was a graduate of Sonoma High School and a long time employee of the law firm Duffy & Preston.
