Honored for photography
After growing up in Sonoma, Tom Sanders set out to capture the faces and stories of America's World War II veterans - before the generation disappeared and their experiences were lost forever. Traveling the country, he photographed service men and women from all branches of the military and invited them to tell their stories in their own words. The result was a stunning book titled "The Last Great War: The Faces and Voices of World War II." Sanders has been honored as a finalist for photography book of the year from ForeWord Reviews, a magazine that highlights independently published books.
