History of wine on display
A new exhibit will open on Friday, April 9, at the Gen. Joseph Hooker House. The exhibit will focus on the wine industry in the Sonoma Valley in the 19th century.
Included will be a reproduction of a postcard of a padre plowing a vineyard. There will also be photos, reproductions of paintings done of Valley wineries and information about the Gundlach Bundschu and Dresel vineyards.
The purpose of the exhibit is to show the beginning and early growth of the wine industry which attracted so many European entrepreneurs to the area. The exhibit is expected to be open through the summer.
The exhibit can be seen Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The house is located at 414 First St. E., in the El Paseo de Sonoma.
Admission is free.
