Historical Society to meet
The Sonoma Valley Historical Society's speaker for the general meeting on Friday, Sept. 9, will be Eric Stanley. The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at the Depot Park Museum
Stanley, who is the curator of the Sonoma County Museum in Santa Rosa, will speak about new findings for the Carrillo Adobe. The adobe, which is located on Montgomery Drive in Santa Rosa, has been the recent subject of archaeological research. The ranch house was erected partly atop stone foundations that were placed earlier, with evidently a much larger building in mind. Stanley will discuss some of the possibilities, including a 22nd California mission.
Admission is free. Call 938-1762 for details.
