Henry Husak

Henry W. Husak died at the age of 84, on Feb. 18, 2011, at his home in Sonoma.

Henry was born in Prague, Czech Republic, on Feb. 18, 1927, the son of Jindrich and Anna Husak. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Husak; his son, Michael Husak and wife, Caroline; and his stepchildren, Robert Martin and wife, Nancy, Jan Martin and Charles Martin and wife, Holly. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Heather Martin, Jason Martin, Tina Reis, Sean Reis, Sarah Martin, Daniel Husak and Amanda Husak. He has three great-grandchildren, James Leveron, Gregory Reis and Madilynn-Grace Reis.

Henry left Czechoslovakia in 1948 for Australia, where he lived until about 1958 at which time he moved to San Francisco. He was a top producing broker and financial adviser for Prudential Insurance Company for more than 30 years, retiring in 1989.

Henry moved to Sonoma in 1989. He was a member of San Francisco Sokol and Sonoma SIRS and Kiwanis.

Henry is an accomplished artist, regularly showing his work at Vintage House senior center, the Sonoma Library and at other events in town. He has been part of the Monday Vintage House art group for many years.

Join Henry's family and friends for a celebration of his life on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Trinity Episcopal Church, Sonoma. Donations may be made to Sonoma Pets Lifeline, P.O. Box 341, Sonoma, CA 95476.

Arrangements are under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel, Mission Cremation Service, Sonoma, California.
