Henry Edmund Storck
Henry Edmund Storck
Henry Edmund Storck, born Jan. 30, 2006, son of Andrew and Jamie Storck, brother to George, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 25, 2011. He is survived by an amazing support network of family and friends.
Henry didn’t need to live 70 years to make an impact; he made a huge one in just five years. He loved to make “garbage,” dig in his dirt pile and play the “stick game.” He could be found jumping in puddles, giving hugs to everyone he met and eating his vegetables to get a Whoopie pie. His love for grapples, heavy equipment, trash and recycling is forever etched in the memories of all those who loved him.
He attended preschool at Montessori on Eighth Street East where his teachers and staff loved and nurtured him in his school activities.
In lieu of flowers the family requests those wishing to remember Henry make a contribution to: UCSF Foundation - Benioff Children's Hospital, c/o Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), P.O. Box 45339, San Francisco, CA 94143-0339; 877-499-8273
His parents wish to support the incredible care that he and the family received from the physicians and nursing staff at this wonderful hospital. Henry was able to give the gift of life to two people through the donation of his organs.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Thursday, March 31, 1 to 3 p.m. at Henry’s playground (Storck home), 19038 Orange Ave., Sonoma, CA 95476.
Arrangements under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel, Mission Cremation Service, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA.

We will miss Henry so much! My son has been part of Henry's dude-crew at school for a few years now, and their friendship blossomed into a caring and playful one, especially over the last year. Henry was such a joy, always so good natured and full of smiles for everyone. We are so lucky to have been a part of his life. He will be dearly, dearly missed. Our hearts and prayers are with the Storck family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I never met your son but, my great neice Taya went to Montessori School with Henry and she talked about her friend Henry and what a nice boy he was. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Jamie and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I can't even begin to imagine what all of you are going through. I just want you to know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all!

An angel I wish I had known…
…but will now know forever (A poem from a stranger)
Henry Edmund Storck, born Jan. 30, 2006, son of Andrew and Jamie Storck, brother to George, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 25, 2011.
Henry was an authentic angel long before he left us,
spreading joy even as he played his childhood
‘stick games’ in the dirt and mud of his simple pleasures.
Such happiness as he personified would not need to be
valued in years or months as only a day sufficed for one
to suspect the real worth of this fleeting treasure.
This kind of earthly loss is never understood in the starkness
of the present tense but the beauty of his hugs will live on in
the lives Henry helped both to inspire and to save.

Post Script: Henry didn’t have my seventy years and, because his days were fewer, they were certainly not of lesser worth, as a multitude of years is not a measure of anything special except the passage of time; what is the measure of special is the impact of a life well and truly loved.
