With diplomas in hand, graduating seniors of 2011 sent their caps flying at the conclusion of commencement ceremonies for Sonoma Valley High School on Arnold Field Friday night. The rain was light but umbrellas were out in force, while nary a blow-up doll could be seen, although a brief flurry of beach balls aroused a few cheers.
Native son and Baltimore Raven Tony Moll shared his dreams and frustrations in a keynote address lauding the lessons he learned in Sonoma.
And music teacher Barbara McElroy (right) capped her 36-year career exuberantly conducting the high school band, her arms waving through a fine drizzle.
For a weekend disrupted by wind and rain, the graduation of some 240 seniors went off without a hitch.
