Good Times in Glen Ellen

When I moved to Glen Ellen 16 years ago I never thought that I would be enjoying some great wines in a tasting room filled with gay men and women. But that is what I got to do yesterday as our local LGBT group, Sonoma GayDar, gathered at Audelssa Winery.

It was a great way to spend a blustery Spring afternoon. Audelssa’s new tasting room in Glen Ellen is tastefully appointed and an extremely comfortable room to meet and mingle in with great people while enjoying their wonderful wines. Everyone at the winery – Greg, Alan and Dustin – were hospitable, fun and generous as they poured wines for our group and Greg even made some yummy delectables for us to enjoy.

It was a good afternoon as we got to enjoy each other’s company, meet lots of new faces, celebrate a birthday, a book release from one of our members, get a glimpse of the new SONOMA magazine and announce our next gathering in April, Karaoke at MacArthur Place. Divas get ready!

Gary Saperstein is a transplanted New Yorker, living and thriving in beautiful Sonoma Wine Country. Working in the restaurant business and focusing on hospitality for most of his “so called” adult life he has now started “Out In The Vineyard,” a Wine Country Tour and Event company marketing the LGBT community. It is his goal to make Wine Country a destination for his community with a chance of getting a date along the way.
