Golf, tennis Dragon boys drop SCL matches to Healdsburg, netters host El Mo Thursday
Having to play their Sonoma County League matches through last Thursday’s wind and chill, Sonoma Valley High School’s boys’ golf and tennis teams battled hard, but ended up dropping 213-240 road and 5-2 home decisions, respectively, to Healdsburg.
Winning their matches at the high school courts for the tennis Dragons were sophomore Sean Hall’s 7-5, retired (injury) victory over Larson at No. 1 singles; and sophomore Stephen Montano’s 6-2, 7-6 triumph over Bursick at No. 2 singles.
Sustaining Sonoma’s losses were sophomore Griffin Hill’s 3-6, 1-6 to Jensch at No. 3 singles; senior David Cole’s 1-6, 6-7 to Villegas at No. 4 singles; junior Travis McRice’s and sophomore Aidan Lacy’s 0-6, 1-6 to Fonseca and Hylas at No. 1 doubles; senior Johnny Medina’s and sophomore Peter Gray’s 6-7, 0-6 to Masselini and Stone at No. 2 doubles; and senior Mauricio De Haro’s and sophomore Liam Casey’s 2-6, 3-6 to Schroeder and Wanke at No. 3 doubles.
The Dragon netters host El Molino this Thursday, April 14, at 3:45 p.m. on the high school courts.

Sonoma’s boy golfers were paced by senior A.J. Vitorelo’s nine-hole round of 43, sophomore Brian Hurley’s 44, junior RAB Byrd’s 46, junior Tyler Johnson’s 48, and freshman Dario Minatta’s 59.
The Dragons hit the SCL road for matches at Windsor today and Casa Grande this Thursday, April 14.
