Gladys Tannahill
Mrs. Gladys (Mayes) Tannahill, 97, passed away Jan. 21, with her daughter Donna by her side.
Gladys was born in Reevs, Ga., to Edith and Kenneth Wilson on Dec. 11, 1913. She worked at Sonoma Developmental Center (Eldridge) for many years where she was affectionately known as "The Amazing Maizy." Born and raised in the Seventh Day Adventist religion, she carried a life-long love for her faith and her large family. She lived most of her life in the Sonoma Valley area.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Doris; husband, Archie; and brother, Kenny. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Donna Caselli; son-in-law Ron Caselli; grandchildren, Connie Medeiros, Gary Sumner (DeAnn), Randy Caselli (Debra), Chris Caselli (Stephenie), Martin Caselli, Jason Caselli, Sam Caselli (Lexi) and Ronda Steele (Greg); great-grandchildren, Rick Medeiros (Natalie), Brian Medeiros, Kylee Caselli, Malik Armstrong (Kaitlin Wood), Kayla Caselli, William Sumner, Aryana Ashton, Jack Caselli, Bethany Sumner, Evelyn Caselli, Isabella Steele, Isaiah Steele, Crystal Caselli, Aaron Caselli and Max Caselli; and great-great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Armstrong and Clayton Medeiros. Gladys' family would like to extend heartfelt appreciations to her caregivers, Maria and Nataly Herrera, for providing such love and comfort in her final days.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma.
