SONOMA VALLEY GIRLS Softball Association will hold an open board meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. this evening at the Sonoma Firehouse, 630 Second St. W. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend and participate in planning next season. SVGSA is also looking for new board members and volunteers for 2011.

SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s football program will hold its annual
SVHS Frosh Football Camp – with an emphasis on strength training, proper conditioning and techniques for incoming ninth graders – from 4 to 7 p.m. this Monday, June 13, through Thursday, June 16, at the school’s weight room and practice field. Participants will need permission waiver, cleats and running shoes, shorts and T-shirts. THE ANNUAL LADY Dragon girls’ summer basketball camp for ages 8 to 14 – under the direction of Sonoma Valley High School girls’ varsity hoops coach Sil Coccia – will hold two sessions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily at SVHS’s Pfeiffer Gym, with the first session taking place Monday through Thursday, June 13 to 16, and the second session set for June 27 to 30. Camp costs for each session are $125 a camper and $100 for two or more sisters – partial-attendance fee of $30 a day. Every camper will receive a T-shirt and a high-quality basketball, and there will be numerous prizes and awards distributed during the week. Registration fliers are available at all Valley schools. THE ANNUAL FIGHTING Dragons Basketball Summer Camp for boys in third-through-eighth grades – under the direction of Sonoma Valley High School boys’ varsity hoops head coach Casey Rogina, and featuring guest instructors Tyler and Zach Tiedeman, who are former star prep players at Montgomery High School and college standouts playing professionally in Europe – will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 20 to 24, in SVHS’s Pfeiffer Gym. THE ANNUAL LADY Dragons Summer Volleyball Camps for girls in fifth through ninth grades will take place Monday through Wednesday, July 25 to 27, at Sonoma Valley High School’s Pfeiffer Gym. For incoming girls’ fifth-, sixth- and seventh-grades, the three-day Dragonette fundamentals camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon, with the Dragon intermediate skills rookies camp for eighth- and ninth-graders running from 2 to 5 p.m. Both camps cost $80 a girl and include a camp T-shirt. SONOMA BOCCE BALL Association has started league play at the bocce courts south of the gazebo in Depot Park, with three nine-week sessions ending on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
