Getting the garden ready

Teacher Craig Madison puts new string in a weed wacker Saturday at El Verano Elementary School. Madison was chopping weeds on the plot that will become the school's garden. A tractor was scheduled to show up later that day and plow the garden. More than 100 students, parents and teachers worked on the garden and other spring cleaning projects Saturday at the school.
