Gary John Ellison

Gary John Ellison passed away peacefully in his Sacramento home on Jan. 22, 2011, from multiple myeloma.

Gary was born in Coquille, Ore., on June 12, 1936, to Gerald Ellison and Lucille Oerding Ellison. After his parent's divorce in 1938, he and his mother Lucille moved to Sonoma where he attended grammar school, high school and Santa Rosa Junior College. He was an outstanding athlete and will be inducted into the Sonoma Valley High School Dragons Hall of Fame on May 7, 2011.

In 1964, he and his wife and their two children moved to Carmichael, where he worked as sales manager for the Juillard Alpha Liquor Company in Sacramento, until his retirement in 1987. Gary was an avid fly fisherman and spent many wonderful times on the Pit River with his fishing buddies. He also enjoyed golf and skiing, he was a true sports enthusiast.

He was predeceased by his father, Gerald Ellison; stepfather, Jim Weyl; brother, Jimmy Weyl; and his mother, Lucille Weyl.

He is survived by his former wife, Gail Ferrari Ellison; daughter, Kari Ellison Cook; son, Michael Ellison; daughter-in-law, Barbara; and five grandchildren.
