May 26, 2011 - 05:50 PM

A Glen Ellen woman was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon after a head-on wreck on Highway 121 just east of Napa Road.

According to Officer Jaret Paulson, with the California Highway Patrol's Napa office, Amelia DeMartini, 22, of Glen Ellen, was westbound in her 2009 Ford Fusion on Highway 121 at about 5:15 p.m., when she drifted off onto the shoulder, overcorrected and ended up in the eastbound lane colliding head-on with a 2001 Toyota Tacoma driven by Jorge Estrada, 47, of Petaluma.

DeMartini, who was the only occupant in her car, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by Reach helicopter.

Estrada also suffered what were described as major injuries and was transported to Sonoma Valley Hospital by ambulance. A passenger in Estrada's vehicle, Guillermo Arguelles, 47, of Petaluma, suffered what were described as minor to moderate injuries and was transported to Queen of the Valley in Napa.

All parties, Paulson said, were wearing seat belts and had airbags.

Paulson said the wreck closed the road for an undetermined period.

No citations were issued and Paulson said the incident is still under investigation.
