Sophomore hurler Brennan Cole lost his shutout with two outs in the seventh inning Friday night but the Sonoma Valley High Dragons already had a seven-run lead and beat El Molino 7-1.

Cole held El Mo to three hits, striking out three and walking two.

It was a scoreless game through 3-1/2 innings, but the Dragons put two runs up in the fourth, added another in the fifth and then pushed four runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth as Sonoma Coach Don Lyons emptied his bench.

Sonoma used six hits and five walks putting their seven runs on the board. Sam Morgan was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Chris Swanson was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI including a sacrifice fly.

The win gives the Dragons an 8-1 SCL record and a 12-6 overall record. It was also Sonoma's fifth straight win.

The Dragons are on the road for their next two games, at Novato on Thursday and at Casa on Friday.
