Dragon JV, frosh baseball, softball girls in stretch runs
After the early and mid-season rains, Sonoma Valley High School’s junior varsity and freshman boys’ baseball and jayvee girls’ softball squads honed their skills and determination to succeed into cohesive team play that has displayed a continued rate of improvement that is fueling their stretch runs.
Sonoma’s jayvee baseball boys worked out the kinks of the preseason and have made a solid push toward the top of the Sonoma County League standings and currently have a 6-1 SCL record and 8-5 overall mark.
The jayvee Dragons are directed by head coach Fred Fegan and assistant coaches Matt Simpson and Jeremy Tayson, and consist of sophomores Joe Cotter, Connor Griggs-Demmin, Donnie Krause, Arthur Morgan, Richie Nunez, Dustin Sloane, Jaxson Strong, Mike Stovall, Keenan Tuohy and Garrett Walker; and frosh Vincent Albano, Dan Deely, Gerald deLara, Jimmy Flatt and Jesse Summers.

Sonoma’s jayvee softball girls have been busy of late squeezing the Ukiah Jayvee Tournament into their league schedule and currently continue to build on their solid SCL play which has them in second place with a 5-1 record, while they’re 8-7 overall.
Comprising the jayvee Lady Dragons, directed by head coach Scott Dagner and assistant coach Steve Cook, are sophomores Selena Guiterrez, Jordann Dagner, Shelby Gray, Jessica Johnston, Jordan Samson and Lindsey Slack; and frosh Katelyn Adams, Paige Giomi, Kyra Hinton, Chelsea Krause, Yesenia Arjona, Michelle Stovall, Kaitlyn Boldt, Samantha Richards, Brooke Slack and Alixya Soto-Pomeroy.

Sonoma’s freshman baseball boys have made steady progress as the season has developed and have posted a current 3-2 SCL record and 5-5 overall.
The frosh Dragons, directed by head coach Rich Blanchard and assistant coaches John Blanchard and Mario Amantite, consist of Austin Bailey, Ronnie Cotter, Andrew DeMartini, Rich Denning, Magnus Forsythe, Devon Graff, Miles Hagin, James Hess, Mitch Hood, Alonso Jimenez, Cordell Kenniston, Jeff McGunagle, Jack Murphy, Ed Pomeroy, Max Schimm, Mike Sunia, Jay Swisher and Zach Thompson.
