Cuclis to run for 1st District Supervisor
Gina Cuclis
Long-time Valley resident Gina Cuclis is running for Valerie Brown's supervisor seat in District 1.
The primary election will be held in June 2012.
Cuclis served nine years on the City of Sonoma's Planning Commission, and said she is running because of her strong belief that "a supervisor ought to be approachable, accessible and respectful of all constituents. As supervisor, I will make responding to constituents' requests and concerns a top priority."
"I'm a big believer in getting out into the community and bringing people together to reach solutions," said Cuclis, who has been holding neighborhood meetings listening to residents' concerns. "It's what I've been doing for the past two decades, going back to my days asking residents what they wanted for their community as president of the Verano Springs Association."
Cuclis cited her campaign platform as:
• Responsive local government.
• Creating jobs and supporting local business development.
• Protecting the environment.
• Keeping agriculture viable.
• Improving county roads and transportation.
• Increasing access to quality health care
• Investing in human services to improve lives
Cuclis served on the City of Sonoma's Planning Commission from 1997 to 2006 as its representative from outside city limits. She also served on the Sonoma Valley Health Care District's Strategic Planning Committee from 2006 to 2009 and she is currently on the Sonoma County Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Advisory Board.
Cuclis is a public relations professional who has been operating a PR firm serving small businesses, nonprofits and public agencies. Several of her clients are among her early endorsers.
Cuclis lives in Boyes Hot Springs with her husband, Roy Tennant. For more information, visit Cuclis' website, www.GinaForSupervisor.com.
