THE WORK OF Kareem Assab will be displayed at the Epicurean Connection.

The Epicurean Connection will host the artwork of Moroccan artist Kareem Assab through March 1. There will be an opening reception for the artist on Friday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m.

During the free reception, the Epicurean Connection will serve Moroccan olive tapenade and delice with Claypool Cellars wines and Uncommon Brewers ales and Taylor Maid Farms coffee.

Assab was born in Casablanca, Morocco, where he comes from a large Berber family. Assab attended a private architecture school in Paris, France, and moved to San Francisco in 1990. He currently lives in Sonoma. He started painting again about five years ago, and finds inspiration in the warm, rich exotic colors from his North African and Mediterranean background, combined with the beauty of the wine country landscapes.

The Epicurean Connection is located at 122 W. Napa St.
