J Love Productions and the Nicholson Ranch Players offer the show “A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas,” at the Nicholson Ranch, 4200 Napa Road, in Sonoma. The show runs Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 1 to 3 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m.

This touching tale, written by Laura Brooks, deals with the two years of the Ingalls saga that writer Laura Ingalls Wilder chose to leave out of her original “Little House on the Prairie” series. Told with period songs, humor and depth, “A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas” tells a story of healing that celebrates the importance of enduring family bonds.

The cast includes Ann Peterson, Jerry Bruno and Luba Markoff. The children are played by Adrienne Valavanis, Maia Reilly, Kamryn Conway, Megan Dewees, Nell Sheridan and Oliver French.

This production comes to the Sonoma stage with a special twist. The director, popular local actress Kathryn Del Chiaro, is the great-granddaughter of the youngest of the Ingalls family, Carrie. According to Del Chiaro, “It is truly an honor to be the director of this project and to work with such a fine spunky cast. We are re-creating some of our nations pioneering yesterdays, recorded by my descendants. It’s a thrill.”

Tickets are $16 for adults or $12 for those under 18 or over 65. Tickets are available at Tiddle E. Winks in Sonoma, and in the tasting room at Nicholson Ranch.

For more details call the Nicholson Ranch at 938-8822, Tiddle E Winks at 939-6933 or Jaime Love at 363-8721.
