Changes in editing letters?

Oct 13, 2011 - 05:08 PM

Editor, Index-Tribune:

I would like to clear up a mistake that was made by the editor in a letter I wrote titled, “Through Rain Sleet or Snow,” and published in “Pulse of the Public” on Oct. 11, 2011.

The sentence, “And they would have to do it within a 10-year period” was changed to read, “And they would have to do it within a one-year period of time.”

It has been a week since Olga Cleary’s letter was mangled beyond recognition. Perhaps it’s time for changes in the way letters to the editor are edited before publication.

Sonoma

Kudos to Letterman, or whomever discovered and fixed the missing "d" on the new city signs for Secon Street East. And now... when will it become apparent that the police station is not really the community center as the new signs state?
