Ceramics exhibit opens at SCC

Opening on Friday, Sept. 2, and running through Oct. 2, the Sonoma Community Center, in collaboration with the Association of Clay and Glass Artists, will host "Doceo Argilla," an exhibtion of 16 ceramic artist/educators from 14 of California's colleges and universities.
The public is invited to a free opening reception on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will coincide with other First Friday gallery openings in downtown Sonoma.
This exhibition will represent works from some of California's most notable ceramic artists, many of whom are recognized internationally as major contributors to the advancement of the field of contemporary ceramics. Richard Shaw, Annabeth Rosen, Richard Burkett, JoAnne Hayakawa and Margaret Keelan are just a few of the artists featured in the show.
Gallery 212 is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Community Center is located at 276 E. Napa St.
