Brian Eaton Farwell
Brian Eaton Farwell, of Sonoma, 48, passed away on May 25, 2011. Due to a serious health condition, he collapsed at his job in Santa Rosa, and died at Memorial Hospital emergency room.
Brian was raised in Illinois by his parents, Mary and Marvin Farwell, in Lake Bluff. He was the oldest of four children - survived by a sister, Dawn, and two brothers, Todd and Blair Farwell. Also he is survived by his birth mother, Sharon Heneman, of Minnesota, and a former wife, Jacquelyn Wasser; and a son, Jack Farwell, 19, of Powell, Wy.
In his youth, Brian attended Lake Forest Country Day School in Illinois, then St. John's Military Academy in Wisconsin. He served in the Navy for two years. He earned an associate degree in journalism at the Northwest Community College in Powell, Wy.
Brian lived an active life, singing in church choirs and school musicals. He wrote for select newspapers and wrote poetry as a hobby.
For many years, he worked as a nurse's aid, and had a second career in landscaping. He was trained in boxing, and was an avid reader, collecting history and biographies. He enjoyed discussion groups in Sonoma and loved living here away from the cold winters.
There will be a memorial - service for Brian Farwell at the First Congregational Church/Shir Shalom at 251 W. Spain St., on Monday, June 20, at 11 a.m.
