Brian Douglas Shepherd

Brian Douglas Shepherd, a resident of Sonoma Developmental Center for many years, passed away on Saturday, March 19, after a lengthy illness. He was 59 years old.

Brian passed peacefully at his home at Bentley Cottage, surrounded by the loving care of his SDC family – the caregivers and friends who meant so much to him. He was a kind and loving man who met the challenges of his life with grace, good humor and an appreciation of the simple joys of life. Brian was born in Pittsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Donald E. Shepherd and Gladys M. Shepherd. He is survived by his sister, Suzanne Pawlowski, of Baton Rouge, La., and his brother, Ronald Shepherd of Hillsdale, N.J.

Brian’s life was celebrated in a private memorial service at Bentley.

He will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Concord.
