Brenda Joan Leslie Elliott
Brenda Joan Leslie Elliott, 44, of Kenwood, died suddenly at her home May 2, 2011.
Born Nov. 23, 1967, Albuquerque, N.M., the family moved to Joplin, Mo., when she was 3, where she attended public schools, graduating in 1985. She attended four colleges throughout 10 years.
Brenda served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army, training as a linguist interrogator and jet mechanic. Her employment history was long, varied and interesting, including Joplin Parks Department, Home Depot, in Joplin and California, Wedekind's in Sonoma, Jack London State Park, to Friedman's Home Improvement Center at the time of her death.
She loved the outdoors, gardening, reading, friends and family.
Brenda will be greatly missed by a network of wonderful friends in California and Missouri too extensive to list.
She is survived by her daughter, Kasandra Caye Leigh Elliiott (K.C.), Sonoma; son, Drew Burrell, of Bakersfield; mother, Sandra Parrill, and husband, Jim, Joplin, Mo.; father, George Elliott and wife, Nancy, of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Bethany Kiele and husband, Michael, Neosho, Mo.; nephews, Drew Moore, Spring, Texas, and Zackery Moore, Huntington Beach; long-time companion and best friend Joe Hughes, of Santa Rosa; and her pet cat, Ice Plant Princess.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life and honor her friends is planned for Tuesday, May 10, 4 to 6 p.m., at Jack London Lodge, Glen Ellen.
The family requests no flowers.
