Breaking ground
A celebration and ground breaking was held Sept. 10 for Sweetwater Spectrum, an innovative residential living community for autistic adults that is being built in Sonoma on 2.9 acres of land at the corner of Fifth Street West and West Spain Street. From left, Board President Mark Jackson, Mayor Laurie Gallian and Sweetwater COE Deirdre Sheerin turned the first shovels of dirt. The complex is scheduled to open in September 2012.

My grandson is 13 and has Asperger's...which is on the Autism scale. He's very intelligent, but I can see him possibly having problems in the future with a job and interacting with people. He lives in Mass. Do you know if there's some like this in that state. I would like to learn more about your facility but I don't want to wait until you open in 2012. Do you have a brochure or something that you can send to me?
Thank you for your time.
