Sonoman Bob Records and SkyDance instructor Charlie Brown somewhere between 13,000 and 5,000 feet over Davis last week.
To celebrate his 75th birthday last week, Sonoma resident Bob Records did something that he never had to do during his 34 years as a pilot for Delta Airlines – jump out of the plane.
Records traveled to Davis where Charlie Brown, former member of the "Golden Knights," the U.S. Army's elite demonstration team, and now an instructor for SkyDance Sky Diving at the Yolo County Airport, dropped with him from 13,000 feet.
This was his second jump; the first was to celebrate his 60th birthday. He and Sonoman Niels Chew both took the leap on that occasion. Records said two local women, Holly Kyle and Hope Nissan, who had taken the leap the week before, inspired that first dive.
"I would recommend this to anyone…it was a blast," Records added.
