Bob D. Carlascio
March 24, 1930-March 23, 2011
Bob D. Carlascio, loving father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family on March 23, 2011, in San Mateo, one day before his 81st birthday. He was born in Portland, Ore., he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to work for the American Can Company.
He met his first wife, of 24 years, Bert, and they had two children, Dennis and Melaine.
Bob worked as a cement mason in the San Francisco bay area until his retirement. He was the president of his local Cement Mason's union. After retiring, he moved to Sonoma with his second wife of 28 years, Diana, who passed away of cancer eight years ago. Bob loved to spend time helping family and friends with various construction and handyman projects. He loved the outdoors and spent many years camping and hunting with his family and friends. He also loved spending time in his boat on the lake, teaching others to water ski.
Bob is survived by his children and their families, son Dennis, his wife Charlene, and children Andrew, Lindsay and Nathan; daughter, Melaine Budd, her husband Tom, her son, Gavin Ahern and Tom's daughters, Laura, Carrie and Kristen; stepdaughter, Patricia Graff, husband Joe and children, Joseph and Myra, Michael and Nicholas Graff. He is also survived by his brother, Angelo Carlascio and wife, JoAnne; brother, Willie Carlascio; his sister-in-law, Mariam Carlascio; and many nephews and nieces.
Bob will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 2, 2011. There will be a 9 a.m. burial service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1500 Old Mission Road, Colma, with a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1310 Bayswater Ave., Burlingame, CA 94010.
