Betty Louise Muehl
Betty Muehl
Betty Louise Muehl, 84, went peacefully home to her Lord on Feb. 10, 2011. Betty was born May 9, 1926, in South Dakota. She met and married Charles Bernard Muehl and together they had six children and 60 years of marriage. They moved to Sonoma in 1957.
Betty worked for 25 years at the Sonoma Developmental Center, but her true calling was as a mother and friend. She was the rock upon which the family was built. She was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church since 1957 and volunteered at FISH driving, delivering meals and as a phone person. With the little leisure time she had left she enjoyed traveling, bingo, feeding the squirrels, gardening and especially her dog, Missy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and eldest son, Dennis. She is survived by her two dear sisters, Ona and Luella; her five children, Warren Muehl, Janice Paine, Jocelyn Fuentos, Gordon Muehl and LaVerne Muehl; mother-in-law of Bob Paine; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Brian, Eric, Greg, Benjamin, David, Mitch, Courtney and Emily; spouses of her grandchildren, Hilary, Jayme, Melinda, Sara, Jodi and numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Thank you mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma, we love you.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, 19355 Arnold Drive. In place of flowers, donations in Betty's memory are preferred to Pets Lifeline Animal Shelter, 19686 Eighth St. E., Sonoma, CA 95476 or the charity of your choice.
