FIRST ANNUAL BASEBALL Equipment Drive – with the donated equipment being distributed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley – will take place from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Aug. 13, and Sunday, Aug. 14, at Hughes Field next to Depot Park. Anyone interested in donating can drop off bats, baseballs, gloves, cleats, bat-bags or catchers gear in front of the Hughes Field snack bar each weekend morning. SONOMA VALLEY ROTARY Club’s 20th annual Louis Minelli Memorial Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, Aug. 26, at the Eagle Vines Golf Club in Napa, with this year’s event being held in memory of longtime member Bob Bohna. The tourney opens with a noon-shotgun start, and the cost is $175 a golfer, which includes green fees and cart, a box lunch, on-course beverages, long-drive hole and closest-to-the-pin contests, tee-prizes and the chance to win a new Chevy Camero. In addition, Festa Sonoma will take place afterward at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building and features a six-course Tuscan-inspired dinner including wine, beer and dancing to the sound of BackTrax. Entry to Festa Sonoma is included in the golf entry, and the cost to attend the dinner only is $55 in advance or $65 at the door. HANNA BOYS CENTER will hold its 19th annual Golf and Tennis Classic on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Sonoma Golf Club. Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m. and includes a brunch at the Hanna campus, with a shuttle provided to and from the golf course, and the tourney gets underway with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. The festivities afterward begin with a hosted cocktail hour at 5 p.m. The entry fee of $275 includes green fees, cart, privileges on the driving range, refreshments on the golf course, tee-prizes and the awards ceremony. SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s boys soccer program’s annual fundraising soccer camp for boys in ninth-through-12th grades, takes place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the SVHS field tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 10, and Thursday, Aug. 11.
