B&GC launches kickball tournament

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley takes Sonoma back to the school-yard with its inaugural Corporate Kickball Tournament to raise money for after-school enrichment and educational programs on Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place at Hughes and Teeter Fields.
Competitors are various local companies, groups and individuals who have sponsored a team made up of players from their staff or friends. Participating teams so far include: The Other Guys, Sonoma Materials, Bank of Marin, Ken Brown and Friends, St. Francis School Men's Club, Boys & Girls Club Staff and Frank Crystal and Co.
Food and drinks will be served during the tournament in Depot Park and at the snack bar as well.
Kickball is the same game many played in elementary school. Kickball consists of two teams, four bases and a large red rubber ball. Similar to baseball, the object of the game is to score the most runs.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is the only multi-location, year-round youth facility offering after school education and development programs to more than 2,000 Sonoma Valley youth annually.
The club has been serving Sonoma Valley youth since 1962. Each day, more than 500 kids come to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley. Each year, the club serves 50,000 snacks and 5,500 meals.
