Art Guild spotlights Dawnay
"Brandi" by George Dawnay
The opening reception for May's Art Guild of Sonoma's Member Show, featuring artist George Dawnay, takes place Friday, May 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arts Guild of Sonoma.
Dawnay is a figurative painter, whose themes and style are anecdotal and biographical. His main influences are Rembrandt, Odd Nerdrum and Caravaggio.
The following member artists will also be exhibiting during May: Patricia Akay, Barbara Aliza, Pat Biggs, Beth Changstrom, Irene Ehret, Zaza Fetterly, Yvonne Gambrione Martin, Christine Gonzalves, Katherine Greene, Susan Heeringa-Pieper, Cynthia Hipkiss, Ray Jacobsen, Paul Kirley, Sandra Lane, Christine MacDonald, Martin Munson, Andrea Patri, Katie Richardson, Joan Shepherd, Sharon Sittloh, Lyn Swan and Thena Trygstad.
The show is open to the public and all are invited to visit the gallery daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
The guild also coordinates art exhibits, workshops, scholarships and other opportunities for Sonoma Valley's youth and adults.
