GRADUATES FILE UP to the stage to receive their diplomas at Altimira Middle School.

One-hundred-thirty-nine eighth-graders were promoted Thursday, June 4, in a ceremony at Altimira Middle School.
During the promotion ceremony, a number of awards were given out to the students.
Alexa Hall and Elizabeth Eagles were named outstanding students.
La Luz Awards were given to Jesus Moreno, Norma Maldonado, Alison Tweden, Berry Saraga and Rowan Todd. Daughters of the American Revolution Awards went to Esteban Fernandez and Maribel Campos.
The Kosal Long Memorial Award went to Kyle Garcia while the Soroptimist Awards went to Joaquin Ornelas and Rowan Todd.
The Principal's Awards were given to Rowan Todd and Jovanna Quezada while the Vice Principal's awards went to Luis Rivera and Nancy Guerrero.
Certificates were awarded to Jen Magallan and Dante Fernandez in math; Sean Baskin and Jackie Hollis in history; Lauren Blake, Haliel Juarez, Jacob Little and Isabel Falls in language arts; Isabel Falls in science; Berry Saraga and Alberto Soriano-Morales in performing arts; and Jen Magallan and Riley Scanlan in computer arts.
The President's Award for Educational Achievement was given to Esteban Fernandez, Nancy Guerrero, Rosalio Lopez, Emily Miller, Berry Saraga, Riley Scanlan and Cameron Schudy.
President's Award for Educational Excellence for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or above and an advanced score on the state achievement test were given to Christian Ballard, Emmanuel Berke, Thomas Crumly, Elizabeth Eagles, Alexa Hall, Julie Ling, Jacob Little, Jennifer Magallan, Mireya Robles, Eli Sanchez, Ciara Smith, Annie Thorton and Isabel Falls.
Recipients for maintaining a 4.0 GPA for all three years were Isabel Falls and Elizabeth Eagles.
