About pit bulls
Editor, Index-Tribune:
This happened in 2000; I was living in Duvall, Wash.
It was a beautiful spring day, so I decided to walk to the store, five blocks away. I usually drove.
I was three blocks from my house when suddenly a pit bull came running up the hill toward me, stopped about three feet from me, teeth bared and growling, obviously tired from the uphill run or he would have jumped on me and torn me apart.
A second pit bull was approaching a little further behind, when his owner came out of the house and and whistled for them and they ran back to the house, reluctantly it seemed.
I was 81 years old at the time, was carrying only a change purse in my pocket so had absolutely nothing to protect myself. I dread to think of what may have happened if the owner had not come out of the house when he did, and if my Guardian Angel had not been there to protect me that day.
That prayer means so much more to me since that frightening experience!
