3,000 miles for high school football game?
Editor, Index-Tribune:
Do you have any idea why I spilled coffee all over the San Francisco Chronicle's sports section?
Here it is.
On the front page starts a story of a Bay Area high school football team traveling 3,000 miles to play a Florida team - 3,000 miles. Can you believe it? Then to add insult to injury, the game is on ESPN. Further, one of the teams has 17 coaches.
How could you watch this game and realize more than 10,000,000 people are unemployed? The stock market is in the toilet - down more than 8000 points, 401ks are taking a huge beating.
Sure, the game was planned well in advance. There is money from TV, etc. But in these very difficult times, how could school administrators and sports management make such misguided decisions? What were they thinking? Certainly the public relations people had no say in this.
As you can see, the coffee ruined everything on the sports section but this article.

I don't suppose the billion plus dollar Solyndra scandal was in the sports section? Or the news section?
