Sherpas on EverestIt’s six a.m. and about 6 degrees outside when I feel a knock on my tent. “Namaste. Good morning, Sir,” says a high, polite but insistent voice. BreatheStrike out some morning from behind the Sonoma Vets building for the hike up Overlook Trail. At the top, sit on one of the stone benches and concentrate on the quiet. Women of WineYou might be asking yourself, what is a 50-year-old mother of two, a respected member of the winemaking community, co-owner of what is probably the most revered vineyard in the Sonoma Valley, as well as a national leader in the campaign to protect wild horses, doing not-quite naked in an old bathtub filled with grapes? Good question. |

Vegetablist, Homecooker, Marcy SmothersMarcy calls herself an ordinary person with extraordinary curiosity. Guy Fieri calls her "the Marcinator." They're total opposites, and they're buddies. She is the yin, he is the yang. She is the Giants and the 49ers, he is the A's and the Raiders. She drives a Chrysler mini-van, he drives a Corvette, a big-block Chevelle and anything else that goes fast. She is a Mac, he is a PC. You get the picture. |
